Christmas Eve Service

  • Columbia City Church of Hope 3818 South Angeline Street Seattle, WA, 98118 United States (map)

Our Christmas Eve service is back! Family friendly with Christmas carols, sharing the story, candlelight and joy! In light of Covid challenges, in addition to our usual precautions, here are a few things to know in preparation for the service:

  • Joining online is the safest option. If you are uncertain about whether to come, feeling any symptoms, suspected exposure, etc. this is the time to err on the side of caution. Livestream is available on our usual Sunday Zoom link. We will do our best to make the Zoom experience as engaging and connected as possible.

  • Now is the time to up your mask game! We just got a giant case of surgical masks from King County Public Health to distribute. If you’re still wearing cloth masks, please take a box and wear one for worship or any time you gather in a public place. (We also have some N95s available.)

  • Vaccines are required for all attendees 12 and up. Instead of showing proof of vaccination, we are trusting the community to use the honor system. For the health and safety of everyone, we ask those who are not fully vaccinated (ages 12+) to join us on Zoom. Boosters are encouraged for almost everyone--please get yours if you haven’t already!

  • We are not celebrating communion or offering any snacks or beverages at this service. Everyone will remain fully masked at all times.

  • While we may not be able to maintain optimal social distancing, we will open windows for ventilation, so dress warmly

  • Music will continue to be led by instrumental musicians and 1-2 vocalists. At the end of the service, we will go outside the church and gather by candlelight to sing the last two songs together (masked). You may opt for as much distance as you wish--even across the street.

If you’d like to volunteer (as a musician, greeter, reader, candle-lighter) please let us know! Email Alex at admin@columbiacityhope.org for info about open volunteer spots!
